Digital Project Manager

Position: Digital Project Manager for seventeen

How I got here: I've always loved the idea of working in the media and when the time was right I headed to Grahamstown to read for Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Journalism and Media Studies and English Language and Linguistics at Rhode University. I specialised in Design and New Media which opened doors for my first job as a designer at a PR company. Loved the job but was then offered a position at a television station as copywriter where my job was to write 30-second movie promo copy for approximately a year and a half. After my stint in television I joined the amazing and dynamic seventeen magazine digital team where I've been since 2007.

I love my job because...
it's fast-paced and there's always something new to try out on the horizon. What's also super cool is that any idea you dream up is completely possible (with the help of incredibly clever developers, of course) and measurable so we can always tell how well a campaign idea performed.

The thing that drives me crazy is... slow internet connections and when people do not follow briefs.

You'll love my job if you are... organised, love being busy and can come up with great ideas on a daily basis. If you can make things happen and always have a plan B in your back pocket then this job is for you. Don't forget, a prerequisite is that you need to love technology and should be able to work with different types of people from the sales team to clients, writers and developers.
